Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
