Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
