Jurgen Klopp admits a return to coach Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who departed from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that returning someday remains an option. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign which brought Champions League success and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, has since taken on positions as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and providing guidance for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the Premier League in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the notion that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he shared with the podcast host: “I said I won't manage any other side on English soil. Therefore if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, that means the choice could be mine down the line, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, I don’t have to do that. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on the specific conditions would have to unfold to draw him back to the touchline, he revealed he isn't eager for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; I don’t miss standing in the rain for lengthy sessions; I don’t miss going to interviews multiple times weekly or doing numerous chats weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, but sitting in a restaurant alongside the squad talking freely, I appreciate that. With many victories meaning regularly positive atmosphere at the club. I can still hear the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, praising him due to the changes that took the title last campaign. Liverpool have lost four consecutive matches across various tournaments following significant transfers, though he denied the idea that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. A remarkable prospect. The French striker, excellent performer. They have a strong well-judged squad. No need for concern about Liverpool, they'll bounce back.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in while in charge, and its impact at the club. Jota died tragically in a car crash with his brother in July.

“How do you replace such an individual? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, it's his character. I struggle to conceive the team environment missing him. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. It was an incredible shock for his teammates too. Not a single person will ever use it to justify results though it's a fact. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Coping with it individually is difficult. Overwhelming.”
