Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Mohamed Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his public comments.
What Happened
He was omitted from a vital match following voicing frustrations and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The head coach has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.
He also noted that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the situation. He feels the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and starting to win games.”
